About ATAS

The Australian Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATAS) is an industry accreditation scheme that sets the benchmark of quality for the travel industry.

ATIA is committed, through ATAS, to elevating travel industry standards in Australia by driving increased and continued participation by travel intermediaries in ATAS and raising consumer awareness of the benefits of booking travel through an ATAS accredited agent, tour operator or wholesaler.

ATAS Accreditation represents a point-in-time assessment against the criteria of the ATAS Charter. Whilst all care and due diligence is taken, ATIA makes no warranty, representation or guarantee that any ATAS member is solvent at any given time. ATAS Accreditation is a voluntary membership scheme and is not a government administered body nor is it an insurance or compensation scheme.

The accreditation scheme is open to all travel intermediaries (those that buy and sell travel) and benchmarks applicants against a range of criteria.

Those that meet the requirements are awarded national accreditation and receive the right to use the 'ATAS - travel accredited' branding, a symbol of quality and professionalism.

Through this third party industry endorsement, ATAS provides a strong platform for consumer recognition of professional conduct and business ethics, and can strengthen a businesses reputation and value proposition to the customer.
