Are you ATAS accredited? Research says consumers want to know.
New research, commissioned by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) and conducted by FiftyFive5, a global research agency reveals that awareness of ATAS drives usage, influencing where a consumer books their travel.
82% of consumers will look for an ATAS accredited travel agent when booking travel.
AFTA has produced a short video summarising the research findings.
The research says if you are not telling consumers that you're ATAS accredited you are missing out on potential business. The findings revealed that awareness of ATAS can shift attitude and booking behaviour:
53% of research respondents wish they were told about ATAS as it would have given them more confidence to use a travel agent
75% of NON travel agent users will book with an accredited travel agent next time
92% of existing travel agent users love the fact that you're accredited and are 74% more likely to book with your agency next time
45% of consumers who used a travel agent only booked part of their trip with that agency; ATAS has the potential to convert more sales
60% of overseas travellers say that ATAS is relevant to their travel plans
58% start to question and worry about non-accredited business and online booking sites
Realize the full potential of the value of being ATAS accredited and log into the 'Participant Zone' and download the range of ATAS assets (logos, flyers, email signature, social media tiles) to help promote that your business is accredited; legitimate, professional and trusted.
