[6 July 2016:] The Australian Federation of Travel Agents and After Party sponsor Singapore Airlines have remained tight lipped about the exclusive location for the 2016 NTIA After Party until today.
It’s just a little over a week until the highly anticipated NTIA Gala Dinner and AFTA and Singapore Airlines are delighted to reveal that the location for the After Party will be at one of Sydney’s hottest nightclub venues, The Watershed, Darling Harbour.
Chosen for capacity to host all 1,272 Gala Dinner attendees and boasting 3 exclusive levels with city and Darling Harbour views, AFTA Chief Executive Jayson Westbury said that there isn’t a more perfect venue.
“The NTIA is the biggest celebration in the annual travel industry calendar and it is tradition to continue the celebrations into the early hours of the morning. Singapore Airlines have been the After Party Sponsor since 2010 and when we were planning for this year’s event wanted to make it bigger and even more remarkable for guests. What better than a 3 level, city facing venue, just a short walk from where the Gala Dinner will take place,” said Westbury.
Dale Woodhouse, Singapore Airlines’ Senior Manager Marketing & Alliances Australia said;
“Singapore Airlines is proud to once again be the exclusive sponsor of the NTIA After Party. The night provides us with the perfect opportunity to thank the industry for their continuing support. We look forward to celebrating the travel industry’s night of nights with our industry partners and friends.”
The Gala Dinner will be held on Saturday 16 July at Darling Harbour. Doors open at 5pm and guests will be reminded to put on their wrist bands, tear out their free drink voucher and make their way to the After Party celebrations from 10pm till late.
Singapore Airlines will illustrate to guests that their airline isn’t just a great way to fly, they know how to celebrate too.

Notes to Editors:
The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) is the peak body in Australia representing the retail travel industry. Founded in 1957, AFTA represents the majority of travel agents in Australia and includes all of the major travel agency groups.
AFTA’s role is to uphold the interests of members in matters relating to the operation of all travel agencies in Australia. In broad terms these issues are ones that are not addressed by agent chain or corporate entities on behalf of their members, and are ones that involve the industry as a whole.
ATAS -TRAVEL ACCREDITED: The AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATAS) is an industry accreditation scheme that sets the benchmark of quality for the travel industry.
AFTA is committed, through ATAS, to elevating travel industry standards in Australia by driving increased and continued participation by travel intermediaries in ATAS and raising consumer awareness of the benefits of booking travel through an ATAS accredited agent.
The accreditation scheme is open to all travel intermediaries (those that buy and sell travel).
The AFTA National Travel Industry Awards (AFTA NTIA) acknowledge the best of the best in the Australian travel industry – with categories covering travel agencies and individual consultants, as well as the various suppliers which support them and their businesses.
These awards are essential in providing encouragement and recognition to the businesses and personnel who demonstrate outstanding service, marketing excellence and business acumen to the travel industry.
The 2016 AFTA NTIA Gala Dinner will be held on Saturday 16 July at the Dockside Pavilion Darling Harbour.
