Director, Asia-Pacific – Dubai Tourism
It has been a busy month for Dubai Tourism in Australia, with a number of industry expos providing great opportunities to meet consumers and agents alike, an exciting cross-brand consumer campaign with Messina ice-cream in Sydney (creating two bespoke flavours using traditional Arabian ingredients) and TV shoots on location in Dubai - all adding to the exciting launch of the annual Dubai Food Festival (DFF), at which we will have five of Australia’s most popular and acclaimed chefs hosting a series of masterclasses, cooking demonstrations and private dinners.
Launching on 25 February, the three-week food festival is a celebration of all things gastronomical and this year we have George Calombaris, Manu Feildel, Matt Moran, Shannon Bennett and Gary Mehigan taking part in the event to showcase their talents to visitors, including a Dine with the Stars gala event.
This will be Dubai’s biggest DFF to date and with more and more Australians travelling for gastronomy, it is a great chance to showcase the traditional cuisine of the region, alongside the fine-dining and casual dining scene which amounts to over 5,400 restaurants across the city.
In addition to DFF, Dubai Tourism recently hosted Western Australian based TV crew, Today Tonight to shoot some high-profile interviews and footage of the construction of the four huge new theme parks opening this year. To see the scale of these developments and hear more about IMG World of Adventures and Dubai Parks and Resorts, you can view the footage online here, as well as view the team exploring the Miracle Gardens of Dubai.
Make sure you also watch out for the Rachel Hunter’s Tour of Beauty, finally airing in Australia on Foxtel and exploring the culture and heritage of Dubai in a dedicated episode next month. The series airs on Tuesdays at 8.30pm on Lifestyle You.
