This time of year is an exciting time for travellers to visit Dubai, with a range of music, art and sporting events attracting big names in the industry and keeping locals, expats and travellers entertained every other week.
On top of that the 44th UAE National Day is coming up on 2nd December, which is a city-wide celebration with magnificent fireworks, street parades and many other activities, followed at the end of the month with New Year’s Eve celebrations that see the city light up and international music stars and celebrities fly in to headline events!
Although the city already has so much to offer travellers with a wide range of attractions, the desert, incredible food and beach side resorts, Dubai also has an extensive events calendar for travellers to experience something different every time they visit the city – just another reason why Dubai is the perfect stopover or extended stopover destination.
The Dubai Calendar is the best source for information on events, and the city hosts events that will suit everyone’s tastes; from the Motor Festival earlier this month showcasing some of the world’s most elite cars that are rarely seen on the roads of Australia, to a festival of literature, a festival of jazz, a festival of food, a festival of comedy and coming up next month, the Dubai International Film Festival - showcasing movies from across the world and attracting big name Hollywood actors to the star-studded event.
At the start of 2016, and every January, there is a month-long shopping festival, offering discounts of up to 75% across retail outlets all over the city – including the world’s largest shopping centre, The Dubai Mall. And for the duration of the peak season, Dubai opens its Global Village.
Global Village is the largest seasonal cultural event in the region. The five-month event from November to April has festivals, shopping and entertainment in an open-air theme park with over 70 participating countries, more than 50 funfair rides and an array of restaurants offering flavours from all around the world.
With a full-year long calendar of events, newly launched hotels such as the St. Regis and Palazzo Versace and the opening of Dubai’s first W Hotel, the Dubai Opera House and IMG World of Adventures theme park in Q1 of next year, there has never been a better time to sell Dubai to Australians.
