Julie King, Director – Asia-Pacific, Dubai Tourism
With the festive season nearly upon us and 2016 in sight, the team at Dubai Tourism would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and New Year.
2015 has been a huge year for Dubai in terms of promotion, with our largest ever brand campaign launching globally in October on TV and cinemas in Australia, our annual Emirates and DTCM megafam in May, the filming of eight TV productions and two live radio broadcasts in the city, and hosting over 20 social influencers in Dubai. We have increased momentum to strengthen awareness of the destination and what Dubai can offer, in readiness for 2016 and an array of new attractions and developments.
As we look to next year, we will continue to be in market with enhanced trade partnerships and creative PR initiatives and marketing campaigns to stimulate the conversion to sales. Dubai will see a number of new attractions that will suit travellers of all ages, such as the Dubai Frame, the Dubai Opera House and district, four new theme parks including IMG World of Adventures and LEGOLAND, and the development of Al Habtoor City with new hotels such as W and St Regis. Our focus will remain increasing length of stay for stopovers and also positioning Dubai as a destination.
With so many new things to see and do in Dubai next year, we have some really exciting projects across culinary, family, adventure and millennials to drive home the message about the changes happening in Dubai in 2016. Activity will be kick-started immediately after the festive break with several initiatives, including a consumer promotion in Sydney and outdoor advertising in Melbourne, in time for the Emirates Australian Open, and presence in Westfield over the next six weeks. You should also watch out next February as we bring five of Australia’s top Chefs to Dubai.
From the team here at Dubai Tourism we would like to thank you all for your unwavering support and we look forward to working together on a really exciting year ahead.
Merry Christmas, we hope you all have a good break.
